Jessica, MSTCM, L.Ac. is a California State Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist and Massage Therapist with over 4000 hours in the healing arts. Her initial inspiration to pursue a career in alternative health was catalyzed by her experiences observing the compassionate and effective care given by doctors in Chinese and Indian Natural Medicine clinics in both the US and India. Prior to completing her Masters degree at The Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences, Jessica practiced Massage Therapy in the Bay Area for over ten years with an emphasis on deep myofascial release and repetitive strain injuries. She has additional training in Chi Nei Tsang, (Chinese Internal Organ Massage), Thai Massage and Ayurveda. She is also a Reiki practitioner and avid Yoga practitioner with over fifteen years of personal practice and some formal teacher training studies. This has cultivated a grounded and mindful awareness as well as a solid understanding of the body’s muscular infrastructure in relation to movement. She works from a place of intention, focus and precision that brings pain relief, greater freedom of movement and a sense of calm. As an acupuncturist, her intention is to provide treatments that are nourishing, effective, grounding and educational. She aims to inspire people to continue on their personal healing journey with practices that augment ones connection to their body and to the natural world.
Laura has been practicing massage professionally for 15 years. As a lifelong dancer and with a mother who is a massage therapist- she knew the benefits of regular body work from a young age. After a back injury from two car accidents, she took a break from dancing and enrolled in massage school in order to heal her body. Her healing process, like many, has definitely been a journey of the wounded healer. She learned quickly that it had to be approached in a holistic way- including how she exercised, her food and drink choices and finding fulfillment in her life. Having a baby in 2011 helped her understand the many changes the mother’s body goes through during pregnancy and beyond which has informed her work with pregnant and postpartum mothers greatly. Her style is very therapeutic- drawing from Sports, Swedish, Thai, Cranial Sacral, Trigger Point Therapy, Lymphatic , Creative Healing and her own blend of bodywork she is able to create an effective, relaxing and healing session. She has studied holistic nutrition and loves to educate about how certain foods, drinks and lifestyle choices affect the body’s ability to function optimally. She is a student of life and will continue to learn new and interesting ways to help her clients heal their bodies.
