MELANIE HILARIO
Corporate Operations Manager

Mel is an instructor and trainer with certifications from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), TRX, and Spinning. A reformed klutz who loves teaching fitness, Mel trains in the martial art wun hop kuen do (it was love at first kick), runs occasional trail races, engages in her worldwide mission of sharing the correct form for plank and push-ups, writes essays and fiction, and is currently working on a novel about women superheroes (when she can stay awake long enough). As a writer, she believes in the connection between a healthy body and healthy mind. As a trainer, she believes understanding your body gives you both a sense of power and a sense of peace.

CLAIRE DONALDSON

Claire has been swimming competitively since age 7.  She is a Certified Masters Coach and has coached the Oakland Manatee Masters for the past 15 years.  She is also an instructor at Mills College and has been actively involved with their Summer Youth Program since 1998.  She enjoys working with all ages whether it’s for fitness, competition or simply overcoming their fear of the water.

KRISTA KNUDSEN

Krista is comprehensively certified to teach Pilates through BASI and the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), and is also trained in pre- and post-natal Pilates. Krista studied theatre and dance at UC Berkeley and has worked in the fields of theatre arts and health education for over a decade. She believes that mind-body pursuits can transform people both mentally and physically. Her approach to fitness—and life—is to work hard, be kind and sweat regularly.

TERESA ELLIS

A Bay Area native with a contagious love of laughter and all things sparkly, Teresa came into fitness via her mother who worked out to Jane Fonda videos and took her to Jazzercise classes. Leading fitness classes and training private clients in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2008, Teresa comes with 20+ years of dance performance experience which brings an element of show biz to her training which is known to be filled with passion, playfulness and joy. She is The Bay Area’s favorite barre class instructor in addition to being a Dance It Out Group Fitness Instructor and TRX Suspension Training Instructor. Teresa is looking forward to inspiring you to be the change you wish to feel in your body.

ALICIA R. ROZUM

Alicia is a NASM certified personal trainer, with 10 years experience teaching TRX, indoor cycling, and group exercise classes. As a full-time school social worker, she incorporates physical activity and health education with her students, and leads sports team conditioning at school. In her free time, Alicia is often running, cycling, swimming and practicing yoga in her adopted hometown of Oakland. She believes fitness and strength-training should be accessible to everybody, and is an essential component of a balanced lifestyle.

JANET WELSH

Janet – dancer, choreographer, educator – is the creator of Core Flow Fitness™, a revolutionary approach towards fitness blending the elements of Dance, Pilates, Yoga and Body work. She has an MFA in Dance from Mills College and her under grad work at Cal Arts. Janet has worked closely with chiropractors and Feldenkrais practitioners, striving to bridge the gap between the healing arts and fitness. Janet lived in L.A. working in the film industry, with Elite Models, dancers and at-risk youth. Viewing the body from an architectural perspective, Janet is looking always towards an increased capacity for precision, range of motion, spatial awareness, core initiation of movement, efficiency and overall ease and balance. In conjunction with teaching with BFF, she teaches Core Flow™ at the Shawl-Anderson Dance Center and works as a Somatic Arts practitioner at the Claremont Resort and Spa in Berkeley.

LAILA TOV

Laila has been performing in various dance genres for over 20 years. She currently dances with Rara Tou Limen, an Afro-Hatian Dance Company and choreographs for Hip-Hop to Latin Popular dance ensembles. In 2009, she brought her love of rhythm and movement to the fitness world and since then been delivering high-energy classes through out the Bay Area. Her infectious energy and humor will leave you smiling, sweating and ready to conquer!

TIM WISNIEWSKI

Timothy has over 20 years of professional experience, with a Masters Degree in Health Education, Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology/ Physical Education. Tim is nationally certified by NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), by USAWL as a USA weight lifting club coach, and by TRX suspension training systems. He has taught lifetime fitness strategies to children/ adolescents in and out of public schools for 18 years. Whether teaching large groups or personal training one-on-one, Tim knows the importance of creating a safe, dynamic and engaging learning environment. In the corporate sector, Tim infuses this approach with companies such as Academy Award winning local Animation Studios, Kaiser Permanente, F’real Foods, and Albany Aquatic Armada swim club. Set your goals, Tim will tailor an approach to reach them!

BRIANNA BRANDOW

Brianna ACE has been helping clients reach their fitness goals since 2008. She is American Council on Exercise certified Personal Trainer and Expert Rating certified Sports Nutritionist. Brianna coaches private sessions, duet personal training and group classes. Fitness is a life long passion of Brianna’s; she has strong background dance, yoga and kickboxing. Along with personal training Brianna is a certified Dailey Method and Essentrics instructor. Brianna has experience working with the elderly, young, deconditioned, pregnant and athletes alike. No matter what fitness level Brianna brings her clients to new limits within their bodies. She believes a fit strong healthy body can lead to a happier more active life. *also a BFF trainer!

JASON JOHNSON

Jason began weight training at the age of 14 years old. By the age of 17, he implemented athlete training into his program. He is a professionally trained Muay Thai fighter and hip hop dancer. Fitness, health and wellness has been a major part of more than half of Jason’s lifetime. He has dedicated his life to assist others to achieve optimum health and look as great as they feel. Certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, he follows the OPT model of training and has found great success with his clients. Currently, he is studying true strength and flexibility through gymnastics. Jason specializes in weight loss, strength development and injury prevention.

TALI SEDGWICK - NE,RD

Tali is a Nutrition Educator (NE) and a Registered Dietitian (RD) AKA a Food Nerd with a passion to help people optimize their health with food and lifestyle choices. She received her Holistic Nutrition Educator Certification through Bauman College in 2009 and completed her Registered Dietitian program at San Francisco State University in 2010. This powerful combination of whole foods thinking backed by evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy makes her a dynamic and unusual practitioner. 

Currently she works with individual and corporate clients on issues such as weight management, corporate wellness, chronic disease prevention and vegetarian/vegan nutrition at her private practice in downtown San Francisco and as a Lifestyle Coach for Kaiser’s Division of Research. She has made it her life’s work to “help you feel your best, one forkful at a time”!
